Network of Iranians for Knowledge and Innovation

Network of Iranians for Knowledge and Innovation(NIKI) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that has been established in both Europe and the US by Iranian academics.

The NIKI is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer-based NGO that seeks to actively promote the exchange of knowledge and innovation through a range of outreach activities. These are involving a variety of players from individual academics, universities, and professional associations.

Iranian Astronomer Discovers a Galaxy that Spins 100 Suns per Year
Astronomers have discovered that one of the most distant galaxies known is churning out stars at a shockingly high rate. Astronomers, including the University of California, Riverside’s Bahram Mobasher and his graduate student Hooshang Nayyeri, made the discovery using NASA’s Spitzer and Hubble space telescopes.

The 2009 Benjamin Franklin Medal in Electrical Engineering is presented to Lotfi Zadeh for his invention and development of the field of fuzzy logic, a mathematical system that captures aspects of the ambiguity of human language and thought, which has solved problems in areas such as artificial intelligence and the automated control of machines.
